What a waste...

Was reading an article about the dismissal of the first woman flying officer Anjali Gupta..The charges were finacial irregularities , not reporting for duty and physical training and .. take a deep breath .. of throwing a breakfast parcel of an officer in the cook house! Assuming financial irregularities refer to the swindling of pots full of money (a' la scams) i dug deeper to know just how much money was involved ... Rs 1080! to top it all there were other controversial counter charges made from the officer. I wouldnt go into a Holmes mode to check the veracity of these chanrges and counter charges. Thats not my intention... All I feel is sadness...A person whose name is already intio the history books should have such an ignonimous exit ... that too for something so petty.. Rs 1080 . Although it can be argued that its not the amount but the act that demanded punishment... It can also be said that there could be hidden stories behind this one... However the fact now is, this officer has ben court martialed.. dismissed from service in disgrace... There has been others who has suffered similar fate ... and many who may .. but Anjali gupta.. Woman Officer I ... has been grounded ... This time forever ..What a waste...

The military services are still a male dominated area.Even at the cost of sounding feminist...it makes one wonder if the same kind of punishment would have been meted out to a male officer, or will the good ol' boy network cover for them. This is just another episode of the on going saga...

that's why, becareful..before taking on Rajiv or Azim. ok? :-)

As a trained cadet, she should have thought of the outcome before resorting to combat. have not you heard 'no major would enter a loosing battle'. Before raising hue and cry over gender discrimination, she should have carefully analysed her position.
Think twice before you leap..
any way, navvula pillaa, not a bad blog after all. ;-)
